About
pycosmicsdk is the Python SDK for the Binho USB host
adapters. It wraps the native
CosmicSDK C/C++ library in a compiled
extension and exposes two symmetric APIs over the same hardware —
Device for blocking code and
AsyncDevice for asyncio — plus compatibility shims for
the Python packages it supersedes.
The hardware
The SDK is built specifically for use with:
Binho Pulsar — a versatile USB host adapter supporting I2C, SPI, UART, RS-485, CAN-FD and GPIO interfaces.
Binho Supernova — a next-generation USB host adapter featuring MIPI I3C support alongside I2C, SPI, UART and GPIO.
Binho Atira — a debug probe for Arm Cortex-M targets: SWD debug, SPI NOR flash programming, switchable target power and a USB-to-UART bridge. See the Atira debug probe guide.
All three devices are ideal for rapid development, hardware validation and automated testing. For more information, visit binho.io.
Which of those interfaces this SDK reaches on which device is a per-model
question, answered in the table on the landing page and at runtime
by DeviceCapabilities.
